Concept, architecture,
component library.
The reasoning behind the prototype: positioning, information architecture, design tokens, components, motion rules, accessibility and search strategy — plus a ledger of exactly which figure came from where.
01 — Concept
One industrial partner. From idea to series production.
The existing site describes lavorazioni — a list of processes, organised the way the factory is organised. A technical buyer does not shop for processes; they are looking for a partner who can carry a component from drawing to validated series production without handing it to three suppliers.
So the site is restructured around one continuous process rather than a catalogue of departments. That idea is carried literally in the design: a single 1 px line runs the length of the page — scroll progress in the left rail, the progress line through the eight-stage timeline, the rule under each KPI figure. The process is the brand.
Photography, figures and certifications before prose. Proof band sits directly under the hero.
Only figures published by MISTA. Anything unavailable is a visible placeholder, never invented.
The institutional blue marks interaction and measurement, never fills large surfaces.
Every page ends in the same qualified path: stage, volumes, capability, drawing.
02 — Information architecture

Every capability and product family gets its own URL and its own H1 — the unit search engines and AI assistants can retrieve and cite. Blue marks the screens built in this prototype.

03 — Colour
Colour system
MISTA Blue was sampled directly from the original logo artwork — #0F4384, a single flat colour in the source PNG. The neutral ramp is deliberately cool-biased towards that hue rather than a neutral grey, so steel and graphite read as part of the same family.
Used for interaction, measurement marks, the process line and one closing band. Never as a background wash.
Sections declare band-dark, band-light or band-blue; components read tokens only, so atmosphere survives theme switching.
Component macros always sit on white, like a parts catalogue plate, in both light and dark themes.
04 — Typography
Three roles, two families
Archivo at expanded widths carries display: a wide neo-grotesque with the proportions used across European automotive branding. IBM Plex Sans takes body copy and IBM Plex Mono every technical label, coordinate and figure — its provenance is engineering documentation, which is exactly the register the labels need.
05 — Component library

Square geometry, 1 px rules, no decorative radius. Every interactive element has a visible hover and focus state.

Motion is functional: it marks progress, reveals structure and responds to intent. There are no continuous decorative loops except the single scroll cue in the hero, which stops at prefers-reduced-motion.

Body text on off-white and on graphite both clear AA. MISTA Blue at #0F4384 reaches AA for text on white; on dark grounds the lifted #3D8AE0 is used instead of the brand value, so the accent never fails contrast to carry brand fidelity.

The site never says “leader”, “innovative solutions” or “360° innovation”. It never shows a case history, a named programme or a customer quote, because none is published or approved. The vehicle diagram maps only the application areas MISTA publishes — car electronics, interiors, powertrain — and the technical linework is graphic, never a fabricated CAD schematic.
The tagline on the current site, “a 40 years lasting passion”, is replaced by the dated fact: since 1971.

Policies & whistleblowing.
MISTA publishes a privacy policy under GDPR, a Code of Ethics, a Conflict Minerals Procurement Policy and an integrated CSR / Quality / HSE policy, alongside a whistleblowing channel and a stakeholder complaints route.
